Il ministro della Giustizia, Carlo Nordio, ha ricevuto oggi pomeriggio, nel piazzale interno del dicastero di via Arenula, gli atleti del gruppo sportivo Fiamme azzurre del Corpo di Polizia penitenziaria che hanno partecipato con la spedizione azzurra ai recenti Giochi olimpici e paralimpici di Parigi 2024. La delegazione è stata accompagnata dal capo del dipartimento dell'Amministrazione penitenziaria, Giovanni Russo, e dal direttore della divisione Gruppi sportivi, primo dirigente di Polizia penitenziaria Irene Marotta. Il guardasigilli si è complimentato con ciascuno di loro e li ha ringraziati per le prestazioni personali e gli importanti risultati con i quali hanno contribuito al successo di Team Italia in entrambe le manifestazioni olimpiche. "Despondere spem munus nostrum è il motto della Polizia penitenziaria. Garantire la speranza, la fiducia nell'altro, lo spirito di squadra e di solidarietà per affrontare ogni tipo di sfida: questo è il compito a cui avete assolto come sportivi del gruppo delle Fiamme azzurre, come appartenenti al Corpo della Polizia penitenziaria, a cui avete reso onore non solo attraverso le gesta sportive ma soprattutto con lo stile, la lealtà e la tenacia con cui avete vissuto l'esperienza olimpica", ha detto il ministro Nordio.
